６月の高校総体開会式中の演技のため、SPG（応援団）は他校との合同練習を本校体育館で行いました。弘前市外からも青森戸山高校 “BRITES”や光星学院高校“LUSTERS”など計７校８３名が集まり、三日間の日程で、今日が最終日でした。大人数のため普段以上に迫力があり、元気な声が体育館に響いていました。
Today the cheerleaders are practicing their combination routine for the opening ceremony in June. Other cheerleading squads from the area also came and practiced in our gym. In total seven squads and over 83 people gathered here. Today is the last day of the three day program, however, the girls are still full of energy. You can hear their voices echoing all over the gym.

弓道部が明治神宮で開かれる全国高等学校弓道選抜大会にむけて出発しました。１，２年各２名、全員高校から弓道をはじめ、メキメキと力をつけました。弓道部初の全国大会です。２９日（土）１１：００からの女子団体に出場します。 「悔いの残らないよう頑張りたい」と言っていました。
Every other year the national "Japanese archery" tournament is held. This year it is at Mejijingu - a famous park and shrine in Tokyo. And Seiai's Japanese archery club will also participate. For many of the members, this will be their first chance to show off their skills at a national competition. The competition starts on Saturday at 11 o'clock. "I don't want to have any regrets after the game, so I will do my best." said one student.

ソフトボール部は東日本高等学校女子ソフトボール大会に出場する ため茨城県那珂市に向け、早朝出発しました。初戦は２７日（木）明秀学園日立 高校（11:00～）です。「一試合一試合ていねいに頑張りたい」、と主将が言っ てました。応援をよろしくお願いします。
Early this morning, the softball team left for the Eastern Japan Softball Playoffs in Ibarakiken. Their first match will be on Thursday at 11am. "We want to put our best foot forward, get a good start from the get go," said the team captain. Please join us in cheering the team on to victory.

中学校２年“English Training Camp”最終日です。最後に感想文を書き、一人ずつ発表しました。 書くのも発表するのも英語です。 小友さんは三日間を振り返りながら「国際線の機内で注文をするとき、“Can I have～？”を使うことや、オーストラリアに行ってからのトラブル解決法などを学んだ。学んだ多くのことをオーストラリアでいかすため、英語をもっと勉強したい」、と、これからの抱負を語りました。
Today is the last day of English Camp. Students are writing their thoughts about camp in an English speech. Then each student gave their speech to the class. Most students talked about how useful the lessons will be for their trip to Australia in November and expressed a renewed desire to study English.

中学校２年“English Training Camp”の二日目です。朝の英語読書後、各グループ計6コマの活動を行いました。Nick先生の活動では、オーストラリアと日本をテーマにした連想ゲームで遊びました。前に立っている生徒がヒント言い、他の生徒たちが写真に写っているものを当てました。写真は東京タワーや炊飯器、オペラハウスやWombat（オーストラリアに生息する動物）でした。悩んだり笑ったりしながら英語でやりとりをしました。
This morning students at English Camp had more groups activities after the morning English reading hour. During Nick's lesson students played a guessing game where they learned to describe things in English. There were pictures of famous things from Australia and Japan (Tokyo Tower, the Opera House, a rice cooker, a wombat, etc). It was frustrating at times, but students laughed at their mistakes and learned.

中学２年で、二泊三日の“English Training Camp”（英語体験教室）が、岩木青少年スポーツセンターで始まりました。初日には、四グループに別れ、四つの活動すべてに取り組みました。たとえば、料理を作ったり、10月に中３語学研修で行くオーストラリアやホームステイするシドニーについてのガイダンスがありました。すべて英語です。特にガイダンスでは、オーストラリア出身のVikki先生がクイズ形式でオーストラリアを紹介してくださいました。活動の中でオーストラリアでは一般的な“ペジマイト”をパンに塗り食べました。初めての味を驚きながら食べる人、おいしそうに食べる人、おそるおそる食べる人、いろいろいましたが、楽しみながら、英語でなんとか味を表現しようと頑張っていました。
Starting today, second grade junior high school students will have an "English training camp" for three days and two nights at Iwaki Sports Center. Students were divided into four small groups, and the groups rotated through four different activities. All activities were conducted completely in English. There was even a "quiz show" lesson on Australian travel and culture by Australian Ms. Vikki from McComm English Guild. Students also had the opportunity to eat the Australian food "Vegemite Sandwiches". Some students liked it, some didn't. But if the students didn't enjoy the flavor of the food, at least they enjoyed the flavor of the new Australian English they were speaking.

終業式の後退任式がありました。大和智子先生、事務の木村悦美さん、図書館の浪岡敬子さんが定年で退職なさいました。３人とも本校の卒業生でもあります。
During the closing ceremony today three staff members who are retiring were honored: homeroom teacher Owa-sensei, secretary Kimura-san, and the librarian Namioka-san.

弘前大学の高大連携講座を受講していた本校１年の泉田晴菜さんと成田里加子さ んが修了し単位を取得しました。大学生と同じ講義を受けるものでこれまでも高 校２年,３年で受講例はあったのですが、今回は１年生での挑戦でした。全校生 徒の前で紹介し、これからもたくさんの生徒が積極的に機会を捉えて学んでいく ように勧めました。
Two Seiai students, Haruna Izumida and Rikako Narita, took special college level courses from Hirosaki University and received college credit. Usually students taking college level courses are second or third grade high schoolers, however, these two students were first graders so they were formally recognized at the closing ceremony. Hopefully their achievement will challenge other students and spur them on to do better as well.

中学１年アドバンスコースが学級活動として、バケツゼリーを作っています。みんなで作成し、作ったものを分かち合うため３リットルのバケツ３つを使用しました。「楽しくおいしく愛をこめて」作ったそうです。食べるのは明日ですが、生徒達は楽しそうに作りました。なぜバケツにしたのかはわかりませんが。
Today students in first grade junior high, advanced class, made jello in gallon buckets. "Delicious food, fun, and love all included." But they'll eat it tomorrow when it sets.

中学校１年の選択美術では、 静物を水彩で描いています。タンバリン、アコーデオン、小太鼓、リコーダー、シンバルなどいろいろな楽器が無造作に置かれたものがモデルです。「『黒』と『暗さ』の違いを知った。色の違いで遠近感を出したり材質の違いを表現するのが難しい」と生徒が言ってました。
Today in art class first grade junior high students did a still life exercise in watercolors. The model consists of various casually placed musical instruments including a tambourine, an accordion, a drum and cymbals, a recorder, etc. "Expressing the contrasts of light and dark as well as displaying the different perspectives is difficult," commented one student.

バレーボール部（女子）が春高バレーに向け、朝出発しました。茨城で合宿をした後、２０日（木）に 代々木体育館・第三試合（１２：３０～）で 延岡学園高校（宮崎県代表）と対戦します。「まずは１回戦突破！！全員バレー で頑張ってきます！！」と主将が言ってました。応援をよろしくお願いします。
This morning the volleyball team left for their game against Nobeoka High School in Miyazaki-ken. The game starts at 12:30pm on Thursday. "We're looking for a strong start. I'm sure everyone will give it their all," said said the team captain.

演劇部の卒業公演が１６日（日）午後２時３０分より、スペース・ アストロ（中三デパート８階）で行われます。それに向け、演劇部が練習してい ます。「ＡＫＢＦＥツアーにお越し下さい。御覧になれば分かります」と卒業し たばかりの３年生が言ってました。当日はＯＧ・ＯＢを含め計１６名で頑張ります。
After final tests, the drama club has continued practicing for it's upcoming "graduation drama". The drama club's graduation performance will be at 2:30pm on Sunday at "Space Astro" on the 8th floor of Nakasan Department Store. In all there are 16 members of the drama club - including graduating seniors. Please come and see the performance.

暖かい日が続いています。今日高校のテストが終わり、午後にはソフトボール部や野球部が外で練習をしていました。弓道部も３月下旬の全国大会をひかえて熱心に練習をしています。寒い冬も弓道場に透明なシートをかけて温度を保ち、練習してきました。“会”（かい）の時には静か集中し、２８メートル先の的をじっとみつめていました。
We've had a stretch of a few warm days here as high school students finish final tests. Both the softball and baseball teams practiced outside today. The archery club is busy preparing for the upcoming national tournament at the end of March. (The softball and volleyball clubs will also be going to national tournaments at the end of the month.)

１０月の海外修学旅行の説明会が行われました。イタリアへの修学旅行は2008年度で二回目、昨年の引率教師からスライドを使って実際の旅行の説明を聞きました。石油の高騰で計画よりも費用がかかるようになってしまいましたが、今年はミラノに寄ってレオナルド・ダ・ヴィンチの描い た“最後の晩餐”をみようと計画しています。
In December second grade high schoolers will have the chance to go to Italy for the school trip. This afternoon there was an informational meeting for parents of students who were interested in going. Seiai started the option of going to Italy for school trip last year. Leaders from last year's trip gave the parents a taste of Italy by showing them slides of their photos from last year. Although rising oil costs will increase the price of the trip, students this year will have the opportunity to visit Milano and see Leonardo Da Vinci's famous painting "The Last Supper".

高校の入学者説明会が行われました。 県立の後期の試験がまだですし、入学手続きの締切もまだ先ですが、 少しでも本校を理解してもらおうとの意図での開催です。252人の参加がありました。
This morning there was an orientation meeting for students who will enter Seiai at the beginning of the school year in the spring. The results from the public entrance tests have not been posted yet, so this was just a basic presentation about life at Seiai and our goals for students. Two hundred and fifty-two students attended.

明日から３学期期末試験です。高校は今年度の授業最後の日でした。中学校も期末試験ですが試験後も１週間半ほど授業があります。写真は高校１年の情報の授業。最後にアンケートに答えてもらいました。
Today is the last day of classes for high school students. Tomorrow third term final tests start. Junior high students also have final tests this week, however they will have another week and a half of classes after tests. Pictured here is a first grade high school information technology class. On the last day of class, they are filling out a questionnaire on the computer.

卒業式でした。穏やかな春が近いと感じさせる一日、245名の生徒が卒業していきました。今年も卒業式後、体育館を片付け、卒業生、保護者、校友、教職員が一同に会し、卒業記念パーティーを開きました。
Today was graduation. Two hundred and forty-five students graduated from Seiai this year. As usual, after the ceremony, parents, students, alumni and teachers had a party in the gymnasium.
