高校２年生が弘前パークホテルで開かれた就職支援ガイダンス （ハローワーク弘前・ジョブカフェ青森主催）に参加しました。 就職に向けての心構えや職業適性診断、求人票の見方の説明などがありました。２年生にとって は初めてのことばかりで興味深く話を聞き、作業に取り組んでいました。
Second year students attended an employment guidance seminar today at the Hirosaki Park Hotel.

中学校で全校集会が行われ、県中学校選抜美術展（入選２名、絵画の部） と県中学校冬季バドミントン選手権大会女子ジングルス（第２位）の表彰式が行 われました。入選した絵は次年度の県中学総合文化祭（２００７年１０月）で展 示されます。また、バドミントン県２位の生徒は、３月に福井県で行われる全国 大会に青森県代表として出場します。それぞれの活躍を祈ります。
This week outstanding junior high students won awards from the prefecture. Two Seiai students won awards for their paintings. They will display their paintings at the Aomori prefecture junior high cultural festival in October of 2007. Also, one student won the Aomori girl's badminton championship. She represent Aomori in the national championships in Fukui prefecture in March. We hope they will all do well.

ＰＴＡ高校２学年部会が開かれました。会場は本校の会議室です。 「次年度に向けての心構えと日程」というテーマで進路指導部主任が 話しをしました。２３日に生徒に話した内容の保護者版です。 生徒と親が情報を共有して大事な進路選択に役立ててもらいたいという 思いから開催しました。５９名の保護者の皆様に集まって頂きました。
Today there was a meeting with the second year PTA, and other interested parents, about college and career choices in the board room. The meeting for students was on the 23rd. This meeting is to insure that both parents and students have the neccesary information. Fifty-nine parents came.

毎週土曜日には、子供対象の体操教室が第２体育館で開かれています。 講師は本校体操部の卒業生が担当しています。現役選手を引退した 高校３年生も手伝っています。今日は４０人くらいの子供たちが 体操を楽しみました。
Every Saturday there is "Children's gymnastics" time in the second gymnasium (there are three gyms on Seiai campus. Their names are gym #1, gym #2, and gym #3). The instructor is a graduate of Seiai and the gymnastics program here. Some current third year students also helped out. about 40 children attended today's event.

中学・高校では放課後に漢字検定が行われ、２級から５級まで、合 計約６０名の生徒が受験しました。静まりかえった教室の中には鉛筆の音だけが 響いていました。
Junior high and high school students took a kanji test today. There are five levels, Level 1 is the hardest, and Level 5 is the easiest. About 60 students took the test. Students took the test at levels 2 to 5. The Level 1 test is difficult even for a college-educated adult.

高校２年Ａクラスの担当礼拝でした。ヨハネによる福音書１章１節から「初めに言があった。 言は神と共にあった。言は神であった。この言は、初めに神と共にあった。・・・」の部分を 引用し、人を勇気づけたり、喜ばせたり、傷つけたりする言葉の重さを話してくれました。 クラスのよる讃美は第II編１６４番「勝利をのぞみ」でした。
Today class 2A led worship. They spoke on John 1:1 "In the beginning there was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." and the power words have to build people up or tear people down. The closing song was Hymn #164, "We Shall Overcome".

高校２年生が進路講話開会を実施しました。卒業後の進路について具体的に考え 始めてもらいたいという思いからです。就職希望者の面談は２月から始まることや 上級学校の入試方法を聞いて熱心にメモをとっていました。まだまだ先の話しだと 思っていたのが、一気に現実味を帯びてきたようです。
Today second year students had a meeting about preparing for employment and college exams. Third year students are graduating soon, and second year students need to start preparing for life after high school.

火曜日の放送礼拝では“出会い”と“音楽と祈り”が隔週で行われます。今日は“出会い”です。いろいろな教師が担当し、友人、教師、本、歌、自然、神など、さまざまな出会いを通して感じたことや考えさせられたことをお話します。聴く生徒にとっては教師を身近に感じる時間ではないでしょうか。今日のお話は「高校の友だちは、ずっと友だち」でした。
Every Tuesday there is a music chapel. This is a time for reflection and prayer accompanied by music. Today's song was about friends. The end of the school year is coming up - third year students have early final tests next week - and many students will be leaving their friends for the first time.

センター試験を受けた生徒たちは自己採点をしました。これから自分の成績をにらみながら受験先を決め、個別試験の用意をします。
The results of the Center Test are in. Students who gave their scores to their homeroom teachers. This score will be a deciding factor in what colleges students can go to - like the ACT.

中学校第２回一般入試が行われました。また、中学校で“英語検定対策講座”が１２０分の時間をかけて行われ、 生徒たちは準２級から５級まで、それぞれ受験する級の問題に取り組みました。
Today junior high students had a special lesson in preparation for the English certification exam. Today is also the second day for junior high entrance exams. Again potential new students (who have just graduated elementary school) will come to take the test.

高校推薦入試でした。58名の中学生が受験しました。写真は１時間前から受験生を待つ受付の教師たち。20分前には全受験生が到着。余裕を持って面接を受けていました。
Today the high school entrance exam was held. Many area students come to try and enter Seiai High School. Here teachers are waiting for students to arrive at the reception area.

土曜日・日曜日にセンター試験が行われます。それに先立ち“セン ター試験受験生激励会”が行われ、生徒たちは緊張した面もちで臨みました。約 ５０名が受験します。中学生が見学をしましたが、高校三年生の緊張した後姿を 見て、受験はまだまだ先のこととはいえ、気を引き締める時となりました。
This weekend the Center Test (a college entrance exam) will be at Hirosaki University. Fifty third-year high school students will take the test. Matsuno-sensei and the Principal Shundo-sensei gave the third year students a peep talk this afternoon.

囲碁部の活動風景です。真剣な表情で取り組んでいます。高校生の場合、一局（一戦）６０～８０分かかりますが、「相手の手を考えながら打つのが楽しい」と話してくれました。
Today the "Go" club had a tournament. "Go" is a traditional Japanese game of strategy played with circular white and black pieces. A player takes the opponent's pieces by surrounding them with his pieces. The "Go" club is similar to a Chess Club.

始業式のあと３校時より普通の授業でした。久しぶりと見えて休み時間はずいぶんとにぎやかな様子でした。ときおり雪が降っていますが、まだまだ雪の少ない冬です。
Today is the first day of classes after winter break. There is less snow than usual. Both students and teachers are getting back into the routine of school.

野球部は夏の甲子園出場を目指し、雪の中、真剣に元気に練習して います。積雪の少ない年とはいえ寒いグランドに、熱いかけ声が響きます。弘前 市の午後３時の気温は－１度です。
Even in the winter the baseball team practices. Their goal is to participate in the Koshien tournament this summer. Although the air is cold you can hear the vigorous shouts of the baseball team as they practice.

珍しく１月になっても道路に雪のない年ですが、午後５cmぐらい積もりました。夕方一瞬だけ陽が差しました。高校特進コースの講習が先週末からおこなわれています。
It's an unusual winter here. There is much less snow than normal this January. But still, 5 cm of snow fell today.

中学スキー教室が鰺ヶ沢スキー場で行われました。午後に風の強い 時もありましたが天気も良く、ゴンドラ・リフトからは海も見えました。生徒は 四グループに分かれ、時間いっぱい滑りました。「小学校の時よりもうまく滑れ て楽しかった」とは生徒の感想です。
Today the junior high had a ski lesson at Ajigasawa Ski Resort. There were strong winds, but other than that the weather was great. And you could see the nearby Sea of Japan from the ski lift. "Now I can ski way better than when I was in elementary school!", commented one student.
