野球部はブルペンの改修をしています。「よいピッチャーを育てるには、 よいブルペンが必要だ」というアドバイスを頂戴し実行しました。 ２年前に作ったブルペンですが、よりよいものをと思い改修に 踏み切りました。野球部には手作りの設備が多く、後ろに見える ビニールハウスもみんなで作りました。

７月下旬というのに梅雨のように雨がちの毎日です。高校の特進コースも毎日講習で出てきていますが、例年の夏よりはすごしやすく、頑張っています。門の近くのあじさいの大きな株が涼しげにたくさんの花を咲かせています。

今日は野球部に若の里関が応援に来てくれました。野球部コーチの中学時代の 友人という縁で、来てくださいました。怪我から復活した不屈の精神で先場所は 見事十両優勝でした。最後には直々に四股、股割り、摺り足を生徒に教えて 下さいました。来場所は帰り入幕です。頑張れ若の里！

中学アドバンスコースの学習合宿が始まりました。学校を離れて１、２年生は一泊二日、３年生は二泊三日の予定です。今日は１、３年生の第１日目。早速午前中に二コマの講習がありました。

終業式。ニコラス・ボイス先生の退任式がありました。準宣教師の立場で礼拝と英語の時間を３年間勤めていただきました。アメリカに戻られてから大学院で英語教育についてさらに学ぶということでした。
Today at the closing ceremony, missionary English teacher Mr. Nick was recognized for his three years of service at Seiai. He will return to America in order to obtain a Master's degree in ESL.

文化の集いステージ発表。10のホームルームとSPG、音楽部、軽音楽部、吹奏楽部が発表をしました。エネルギーにあふれた２時間でした。
Today was the "Stage Show" day of the school festival. Ten homerooms, the cheerleaders, music club, and the band performed. It was an energy packed two hour program.

文化の集い１日目今日は展示です。野球の全校応援が直前にあり、準備もあわただしかったようですが、それぞれ工夫をこらしていて、たのしそうでした。写真は高１Ｄクラス、ユニセフの活動について調べたものです。午後にはクイズもやっていたとのこと。
Today the school festival was held at Seiai. The students just got back from the baseball game in Aomori on Thursday, and then had to rush to prepare for the school festival. But they worked hard on the school festival and seem to be enjoying themselves. Pictured here, in homeroom 1D, a student explains a poster about UNICEF to visitors. ニコラス・ボイス先生の最後の英語礼拝でした。happy でない時でも神様がそばにいて導いてくれることを感ずることができれば joyful でいられるというお話でした。ボイス先生は今学期限りでアメリカに戻ります。
Today was Mr. Nick's last English Chapel before he returns to America. He spoke from this year's theme verse "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances." from 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 and the difference between joy and happiness. He told us about a bad time in college when he was not happy, but he could still see God guiding him and giving him joy.

夏の甲子園青森県予選初戦で青森山田高校との対戦でした。午後の授業をカットして全校応援に出かけましたが２対０で負けてしまいました。
We played last years' champs, Yamada High, in the first round of the Aomori Summer Baseball Tournament. The whole school turned out to cheer the boys on. They did their best, but lost 2 to 0 when Yamada scored two runs in the 7th inning.

高校３年Ｂクラスの担当礼拝でした。ヤコブの手紙４章をもとに、善おこなう勇気を考えました。クラスの合唱は讃美歌４５３番（きけや愛のことばを）でした。
Today's chapel was led by homeroom 3B. The sermon was on how knowing good and not doing it is sin from James 4:17. The speaker encouraged all students to ask God for the courage to do good. Then they closed by singing hymn #453 "We've a story to tell".

中学３年生は三ヶ月後に海外語学研修でオーストラリアへ行きます。今日は生徒への第２回目の説明会が行われました。中学校教頭の岩渕先生から説明を受けました。
In three months third grade junior highers will go to Australia for school trip. Today, the junior high vice principal told students about Australia.

高校ＰＴＡの全学年部会および合同懇談会がありました。学年ごとに進路について学校生活についてさまざまな講師からお話を聞きました。その後全学年一緒に懇親の時間を持ちました。写真は３学年の松野先生。進路を考える上での様々な作戦を練りました。
Tonight there was a PTA meeting at the Park Hotel. At first parents were split up by the grade level of their students. Pictured here, parents listen to college entrance advice from the Seiai career counselor. After that all the parents and teachers joined together in the banquet hall for a short chapel service and evening meal.

夏の甲子園の県予選が近づき、昼休みに、SPG（応援団）や野球部のリードで、生徒たちが学年毎に応援練習を行っています。今日は３学年が練習をしました。
Today during the lunch break, cheerleaders practiced cheers with students for baseball game coming up on Tuesday.

今年もホームルーム担当礼拝が始まりました。礼拝の司会、奏楽、お祈り、お話の全てをクラスごとに生徒が準備して行います。最初は高校３年Ｆクラスです。ルカによる福音書１０章の“善いサマリア人”をもとに、本校の大切にしている献金についてのお話でした。その後、讃美歌270番（信仰こそ旅路を）をクラスで合唱しました。
Today homeroom 1F was in charge of the morning chapel. They lead the music, prayers and gave the sermon. The sermon was on the parable of the good samaritan from Luke 10 and the benefits of donating to charities done here through the monthly offerings. 今日の礼拝は「出会い」の時間でした。竹本先生が、福沢諭吉の「学問のススメ」と出会ったことについて話してくれました。竹本先生は新任の先生で、教科は保健体育。テニス部の顧問です。
Today's Tuesday chapel service "Encounters" was given by Mr. Takemoto. He told us about the famous Meiji Era author Yukichi Fukuzawa and his book Gakumon no Susume which championed national independence through personal independence. Mr. Takemoto is a new gym teacher at Seiai, he is also the current tennis coach.

今日で中高とも期末試験が終わりました。藤棚に近い大きな松の木に白い実が目立っています。松のたぐいは区別が付かないのですが、最近実の色形の違いから調べてみています。自信がありませんが、この実の形は「ヒマラヤスギ」のようです。１年より長い周期で花から実そして松かさとなっていくようです。
Today was the last day of final tests. These are some pine cones, but I'm not exactly sure what kind of pine cones they are.

中学校も今日から試験です。写真は2007-10-28にも紹介した「まめがき」、または信濃柿（しなのがき）の花。たくさん咲いていて蜂が集まっています。近くに行くとブンブンと蜂の羽音が聞こえます。以前は目の高さだった枝も、今年は見上げて撮らなければなりませんでした。
Today the junior high also started final tests. The birds and the bees are buzzing, and the flowers are also blooming.

高校は今日から期末試験です。クロガネモチ(黒鉄黐)の花が今年も咲いています。
