月に一度英語礼拝があります。今日はジャスティン先生が「あなたに意地悪をする人に親切にすることは難しいけれども、みんなでこれができればもっと幸せになれる」と易しい英語で語りました。また今日は献金日。キリスト教海外医療協力会(JOCS)のためにささげました。
Today was the monthly English chapel service. Mr. Justin Elder gave the sermon. "It is a hard thing to be nice to people who are not nice to you, but if all of us were able to live like this, there would be much more happiness," he told us in easy English. Today was also the donation day. This time we sent our offering to the Japan Overseas Medical Cooperative Service.

テニス部です。秋の新人戦では女子団体準優勝でした。 春季大会の個人戦では今ひとつの成績でしたが、 高校総体の団体優勝を目標に練習を重ねてきました。 成果を発揮するときが近づいています。
The tennis club is also preparing for the Aomori Prefectural Sports Competition. Their spring competition was not their best, but they are all working hard as a team for the first prize.

バスケットボール部です。春季大会はベスト４でした。 本番の高校総体では頂点に立てるように、練習に励んでいます。 選手のかけ声と共に、監督の大きな声が体育館に響いていました。

今週末から始まる高校総体に向け、高校は今日から５時間授業になりました。 今日は各運動部、応援団をＰＴＡ会長が激励に回りました。ＰＴＡ会長の 問いかけに「優勝しかありません！」と力強い抱負を述べている部が いくつもありました。大いに期待したいと思います。
Seiai's PTA president visited the sports clubs training for the Aomori Prefectural Sports Competitions to give some words of encouragement. The high school finished after 5th period every day this week to prepare for the competitions.

中学校は体験講座の１回目。今回は白神山地の周辺部，津軽峠付近で自然を体験しました。快晴のもと、残雪の上を歩きながら新緑のブナ原生林を肌で感じてきました。
The junior high school went to Shirakami World Heritage Site today. The weather was lovely and new leaves had just burst from their buds despite the presence of winter's last bits of snow. The students walked through the beech forest and studied the ecological system.

生活教室では「交わりの時間」というプログラムがあります。参加生徒一人一人が自分の作文を発表します。高校での目標や将来にやりたい仕事など、様々な夢が語られました。
1E class went on its retreat this weekend. They talked about their goals for high school.

花蘇芳（はなずおう）です。大きな桜と紫木蓮の花の後、その２つの木にの間に咲くので控え目に見えます。葉の出る前に枝いっぱいに鮮やかな花をつけます。よく見ると昨年の実がサヤエンドウのような形で残っており、マメ科であることがうなずけます。
Our hanazuou is in bloom now. The flowers have spread to all its branches, which have no leaves yet. This tree, a member of the bean family whose seeds look like peas, keeps its seeds from the previous year.

今年度の３人の新任のうちjournalで紹介していなかった最後のひとりです。保健体育で中学校の担当ですが、高校の授業も受け持ちます。バスケットボール部の顧問です。
We have three new Seiai teachers and we will introduce the third now. Her name is Akita Risa and she teaches health and physical education in both the junior and senior high school. She is also a basketball coach.

朝から小雨が降ったりやんだりの一日。久しぶりにウグイスがきれいな声を聞かせていました。ここ一週間で木々の葉が茂り姿を追うのは困難なので、葉がまだ出そろっていなかった11日の写真でご紹介します。

教育実習が始まりました。今日からの実習生は５人。母校での実習は安心できる面とともにちょっと気恥ずかしいところもあるようです。
Five student teachers began giving lessons this week. All but one are Seiai graduates. More student teachers will come next week.

春季高校野球県大会の２回戦、延長十回五対六でまけました。後、一本が出ませんでした。夏に向けてスタートします。
The baseball team lost the second game of the Aomori Prefectural Tournament in extra innings (3-8). They will work hard to prepare for the summer tournament.

The apple trees are in bloom today and the weather is cloudy with a good chance of rain this evening. Today the high school wrapped up the last of the midterm exams.

Here is a shot of Mr. Kudo grading tests. The high school had its second day of first semester midterms today. It was a gorgeous day and nobody wanted to spend it inside, but the students worked hard taking tests and the teachers worked hard checking them.

野球部がようやく弘前地区第３代表の座を勝ち取りました。弘前実業高校に１０対０（７回コールド）で勝ちました。久々に投打の歯車がかみ合った試合でした。 １９日（金）から始まる県大会に出場することができます。上位を目指して 頑張ります。
Our baseball team beat Hirosaki Industrial High School 10-0 after the umpire called the game in the 7th inning. With this win Seiai qualified for the third spot in the Aomori Prefectural Tournament. The next game is the first game of the tournament on May 19.

敗者復活戦の１試合目は、岩木山総合公園野球場で 行われました。１３対０（５回コールド）で勝ちました。 １１日に引き続き倉内君の好投が光りました。５回までながら１安打に 押さえ、２塁を踏ませない力投でした。背番号「１２」が大きく見えます。 明日（１５日）は弘前実業高校と第３代表の座をかけて戦います。 １２：３０から弘前市運動公園野球場で行われます。
The baseball team soundly beat Namioka High School 13-0 today. The umpire called the game in the third inning. Seiai's next game is on May 15 against Hirosaki Industrial High School where the winner will take the third qualifying spot for the Aomori Prefectural Tournament.

中学校で試験対策講座がありました。普段の勉強を振り返って試験の前にどのような勉強をすればよいのか確認しました。

ＰＴＡ部会・専門委員会組織会が行われ、約７０名が出席しました。
　各組織会において今年度の活動計画を立てましたが、活発に意見交換がなされました。今年新たに作られた広報委員会は、年２回の新聞発行に向けて動き出しました。委員は７月に発行する新聞作りのために、これから頻繁に集まる予定です。
There was a PTA meeting today where representatives from each homeroom formed committees. One new committee was formed to supply information which they will publish twice this year.

野球の春季大会弘前地区予選、２回戦はリベンジのつもりで臨んだ試合でしたが、返り討ちにあいました。 前回負けたスコアと同じ９－１１です。１４日（日）の敗者復活戦に かけたいと思います。１２：３０から岩木山総合公園野球場で 行われます。相手は浪岡高校です。
The baseball team lost 9-11. Their next game will be against Namioka High School on May 14. The winner will go on to play for the third qualifying spot from the Hirosaki area in the Aomori Prefectural Tournament.

木曜と金曜は中学校独自の礼拝の日です。小礼拝堂でおこなわれます。

野球の春季大会弘前地区予選、１回戦は４対２の辛勝でした。多くの課題がでた試合でした。 倉内君は公式戦初勝利でした。しかも完投でした。 立派な投球でした。明日は弘前高校戦です。 １２：３０から岩木山総合公園で行われます。 春のリベンジです。

曇っていましたが暖かい１日でした。白モクレンが花びらを落としはじめました。写真は正面玄関前の桜の木。今年は昨年より花の数が多く見事です。今年もこの下で昼食をとる生徒が見られます。これもそろそろ散り始めるでしょう。

生徒総会が開かれました。中学校が開設されたため規約が中高用に改正されました。 生徒会でも中高一貫のスタートです。
A student council meeting was held this morning. The students voted for some partial amendments to the school regulations regarding the junior high school and made an agreement on the budget.

連休の最終日、吹奏楽部が練習をしています。窓の外には満開の桜が 見えます。ゆらゆらと揺れている様子はまるでリズムを刻んでいるようです。 きれいな桜と素晴らしい演奏をお届けできないのが残念です。
